The quest for impact

FRINGE. develops service innovation strategies for B2B2C Value Chains, thereby leading to new business growth in sustainability and service industries. By designing and managing open innovation and business development processes with organizations in a value chain, we engage and coach the people involved to cut slack and bring added value together in vital business models. Last year we started a joint venture with a client: IF Energy Development (IF ED). This is a fast growing, global niche player in smart city sustainable energy solutions.

IF ED uses all available renewable energy sources (such as surface water, sewage water, sun heat) and storage possibilities (such as big lakes and underground aquifers) in a robust, loosely coupled smart heat/cold grid. In the Netherlands, we use this technology for 30 years now, upscaling from 2500+ individual building systems (offices, apartment buildings) to campuses (hospitals, universities) to complete new areas, like Hyde Park Schiphol (3800 apartments plus commercial real estate). IF ED just started a first project in Korea: Eco Delta Smart City Busan. Our ambition: to use 100% renewable energy in the cities of Korea, creating a healthy and comfortable indoor and outdoor climate.
